Knife wielding mother takes newborn from NICU, stabs hospital staff: Deputies

PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — A novice mother entered a NICU unit Thursday night, took her three-day-old infant from a ventilator and stabbed multiple hospital employees as she left.
Kendra Greene, 31, escaped the hospital with her newborn daughter but was arrested and charged shortly after with five criminal offenses. The infant was taken back to Palms West Hospital by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue in stable condition, according to a news release.
The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office (PBSO) said deputies responded to the hospital around 10:30 p.m. on reports of a stabbing where they learned medical staff attempted to stop Greene from leaving.
The mother took out a knife and allegedly stabbed some employees, the release states. She dropped the baby off with family members and fled, per PBSO.
Three people were injured and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the news release said.
Greene's charges include aggravated child abuse, two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery and resisting an officer without violence.
